Q: Why should I sealed my stone before installation?
A: To ease maintenance, cleaning, resist stains and keep it looking new… A lot of people use China granite because the price is attractive, but china granite or stone is very young, so a lot of problem, like Efflorescence, rust stain, water mark and organic stain coming out after a couple of months of installation.

Q: What types of stone surfaces should be sealed, and how long will it last?
A: All natural stones, (eg. granite, marble, limestone, sandstone, slate, etc) should be sealed before installation. Under normal conditions, Hardrock water-based Penetrating Sealer or Sealer’s Liquid Gold will protect for approximately 5 to 10 years. We have different brand of sealer, like Hardrock, Aquamix, and HMK.

Q: When is the best time to seal an installation?
A: Before installation, sealed six sides of stone for 24hours. Sealed immediately everytime after re-polishing of stones. One of the most common problems associated with the use of natural stone is that it stains very easily. The removal of stain can be quite expensive and sometimes not even possible! To eliminate or reduce thepossibility of staining, it is essential that the stone be properly protected with a good quality impregnator or sealer.

Q: Will the sealer act as a cleaner on existing surfaces?
A: No. But it will protect the installation against future problems.

Q: How do I maintain my stone after it’s sealed?
A: We recommend Hardrock No Rinse Neutral Cleaner and Stone, Tile Cleaner, or Stone Cleaner for routine maintenance, and Heavy-Duty Tile & Grout Cleaner for periodic Heavy-duty cleaning.

Q: Will the sealer prevent scratching and chipping?
A: No. It will prevent against staining only.
